BARRY QUINN

Prior to entering the Building Services sector, I served a role in the electrical testing industry which allowed me to develop a deep understanding of electrical systems and their safe operation. I also worked on behalf of the Carbon Trust, carrying out energy audits and helping companies and institutions reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Since  then I have gained a decade of experience within a wide range of commercial and industrial projects including nuclear and chemical, education, and specialist. During my time with NOVO I have built on this experience, working on all stages of projects from conception through detailed design to hand over. I have designed renewable technologies into many of my projects, with many of which achieving BREEAM Excellence. I have always had a special interest in reducing energy consumption in buildings.

I now design a full range of electrical systems into projects including: incoming utilities, services routing, renewable technologies, LV power, standby/backup generators, UPS systems, earthing systems, lightning protection systems, LAN communications, lighting/emergency lighting, security and process CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, public address/voice evacuation systems and intruder detection systems.

I strongly believe in building strong working relationships with all members of the design team and clients, and have been described as highly approachable and helpful towards others.
