OUR TEAM / PAUL ARNOLD
A Sustainability Engineer ensures that the Carbon Footprint of a building is reduced. Looking at all aspects of the design and the science behind the construction, to provide low carbon, energy efficient buildings. Ensuring sustainable design and compliance with the goal of a Zero Carbon future.
I believe that in order for us as society to become Carbon Neutral, we must tackle the issues of sustainability and energy efficient on a project by project basis, focusing on specific, intrinsic and fundamental aspects of the design process at the earliest possible stage. Using the science behind the construction to calculate the effects of individual properties on the environment and climate, allows accurate assessments of the effects of improving specifications.
With over 7 years experience within the Energy and Sustainability sector for residential properties, coupled with a strong design background prior to that, I have been able to work on a large variety of projects, including many prestigious, high profile and sustainably conscious developments. Being involved from an early stage and using the experience I have gained allows me to provide an informed and comprehensive consultancy throughout the project from design development to completion.
Providing advice that is reliable, accurate and validated by the physics it is based upon, along with delivering this utilising good communication skills and confidence in the knowledge and theory allows for the smooth progression of the development. It also allows for cost effective and viable, sustainable solutions to be implemented.
Striving for a more sustainable future drives the role of a Sustainable Engineer and has a direct and positive impact upon the environment we live in, as well as improving the health, wellbeing and in many cases financial circumstances of the people who will occupy the dwellings.
