Grand Central, the main leisure centre in Stockport and home to the town’s only 50m swimming pool, has recently undergone a £2.8m refurbishment, which involved the upgrade of several existing facilities within the complex, as well as the design and construction of a brand new health spa.
Complete with a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool, aromatherapy room and special relaxation areas, the health suite complements Grand Central’s existing fitness suites and famous swimming facilities. A children’s fun pool and new water slides are also set to be open by the summer!
The refurbishment also involved an entire electrical upgrade and brand new underfloor heating and ventilation systems, seamlessly integrated into the building’s design by NOVO Integration after being appointed to carry out Mechanical and Electrical design services by AHR, the international architecture firm behind the renovation.
The Health Suite is now open, as of 6th June 2018.
