Project Shortlisted for BREEAM Award

The Fraser Studios, a 173-unit student residence in Causewayend, Aberdeen, has been shortlisted for a BREEAM 2018 Award, as one of the greatest examples of sustainable design and construction completed over the last year.

Nominated in the Commercial Design Stage Category, the project was overseen by Hardies Property & Construction Consultants for developer Visage Properties. NOVO were approached to provide mechanical and electrical consultancy services, after project designers Eco-Res received recommendations from another of our clients. Our appointment was to carry out the performance design of the accommodation.

The development also required a BREEAM assessment, with the client and design team aspiring to and achieving an “OUTSTANDING” rating – a true testament to all parties involved.

BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment system for planning projects, buildings and infrastructure. It recognises the value in higher performing assets across the built environment lifecycle, from new construction to in-use and refurbishment. The annual BREEAM Awards aim to “recognise the achievement of those involved in the specification, design, construction and management of BREEAM certified buildings” and will take place on

Tuesday 6th March 2018 at London’s ExCel Centre.
